Home: Racing: Other Activities

What else do you do?

The racing group also puts on two activities during the non-winter months: dryland slalom and weekly mountain biking. Both are "supposed" to be for practice for the upcoming year, but it's too much fun to pass up if you don't want to race.

Rollerblading / Dryland Slalom: During the warmer seasons we meet one night a week for practice. This summer, we are meeting at the Assembly Hall SE parking lot (Red lot) at 6:30 pm on Tuesdays. We set up real slalom gates and rollerblade through the course. Half the people there are serious about racing, the other half just want to have fun. There's no race, no times being taken, just practice and goofing-around. It's a sight you have to see to believe.

Mountain Biking: During the warmer seasons, the group goes mountain biking at Kickapoo State Park near Danville. This summer, the group is meeting every Thursday at the beginning of Trail 2 at 6:30 pm. The idea is to keep in cardio-shape, but again the emphasis is on fun.

Both activities have mailing lists, so that cancellations and changes can be announced.
